About AALCO
The Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) is an intergovernmental organization established in 1956 to promote consultation and cooperation among Asian and African States on matters of international law. Headquartered in New Delhi, India, AALCO serves as a consultative forum for its Member States, providing a platform for the exchange of views and the articulation of common perspectives on contemporary international legal issues. AALCO collaborates closely with the United Nations and other international and regional organizations on matters of mutual interest.
The year 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of AALCO, commemorated as its Platinum Jubilee. In this milestone year, AALCO reaffirms its enduring commitment to the progressive development and codification of international law, as well as to fostering rigorous scholarly engagement with important and evolving issues of international law from diverse perspectives.
About the AALCO Journal of International Law
The AALCO Journal of International Law is a peer-reviewed academic journal published annually by AALCO. First published in 2012, the Journal succeeded the AALCO Quarterly Bulletin, which was issued from 1976 to 2011. The Journal provides a forum for high-quality scholarship and informed analysis on contemporary developments in international law.
The Journal invites submissions of original and well-researched scholarly articles for its forthcoming issue (Volume 14, 2026).
The forthcoming issue (Volume 14, 2026) is a special commemorative volume marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of AALCO. In this context, the Journal seeks to reflect the Organization’s legacy, evolving role, and continued relevance in addressing contemporary challenges in international law, while offering forward-looking perspectives from scholars and practitioners.
Scope of Contributions
The AALCO Journal of International Law welcomes submissions addressing important and timely issues of international law, encompassing both public and private international law. Contributions may examine doctrinal, theoretical, policy-oriented, or practice-based dimensions of international law, including emerging challenges and current developments at the global, regional, or comparative levels.
While particular attention may be given to issues that relate to or intersect with AALCO’s Work Programme, submissions are not limited to those topics, and broader questions of contemporary relevance to international law are equally encouraged.
