International law in cyberspace is an important Agenda Item in the work programme of AALCO. “International responses to cybercrime” is a component of this Agenda Item and features prominently in its ongoing special study of AALCO on the subject. It is in this context that AALCO holds this event focusing on formal and informal regional responses to transnational challenge of cybercrimes and their effectiveness. The discussions will also focus on the role of UNODC in providing and coordinating technical assistance to developing nations in Asia and Africa lacking capacity to prevent cyber incursions and various forms of cybercrimes.
